Stamp Cards

The punch card, minus the punch card

Ten coffees, the eleventh free. Everybody already understands how it works, so there is nothing to explain at the counter. The only thing that changes is where it lives, and the fact that you can finally see it working.

Why It Works

Stamps that cannot be lost or fudged

  • Nobody loses this one
  • It sits with their bank card, not in a coat pocket from last winter.
  • Zero printing, forever
  • No reorders, no design fees, no box of last year's cards in the back.
  • You can see who is on nine
  • One click to message everybody a single visit from a reward.
  • Honest counting
  • A cooldown stops a card being punched five times while somebody's mate is behind the counter.

FAQ

Stamp Cards, answered

It is better when your prices barely change. A flat white is a flat white, so counting visits is fairer and simpler to explain. If a customer might spend £4 or £40, use points instead so the bigger baskets earn more.

Work backwards from margin. If the free item costs you £1.20 and you make £2 a visit, ten visits is comfortable. Six feels generous, twelve starts to feel like homework.

The card clears itself and the next run starts on their next visit. Their history stays on their record, so you can still see the regulars.

Yes. Staff look them up by name, phone or email and add the punch by hand. The count lives on their account, not only on the card.
